A true after-hours service requires staff on the premises 24 hours. Very few practices can provide this. A late night emergency may require serious decisions and ongoing care through the night.

For this reason we refer after hours calls to the Southern Animal Emergency Centre (9532 5261) located minutes away 248 Wickham Rd Highett. They are able to provide professional emergency treatment and ongoing care until we can take over again in the morning. Their pricing will differ from what you will be used to at Moorabbin Vet. On occasions we may feel it safer for an inpatient to be transferred to the Emergency Centre for ongoing care overnight.
