Behavioural Consultations
At Moorabbin Veterinary Hospital our team of veterinary professionals work together to diagnose and treat a range of behavioural problems. These may include simple training problems, behaviours that are normal—but misunderstood and annoying—to complex conditions caused by medical conditions and mental health illnesses.
What a behavioural consultation involves
If you have concerns about your pet’s behaviour, we would recommend a behavioural consultation to assess and address the issues.
Depending on your pet’s needs, our behavioural consultations are between 30 minutes – 2 hours long and focus on developing a personalised behavioural management plan for your pet.
The consult includes:
- An assessment to understand why the behaviour is occurring
- Behavioural/environmental modification recommendations
- Medication recommendations, if necessary
- Owner education and advice
- Recommended follow-up actions
