Michelle Hyndman

Practice Coordinator / Nursing Team Leader

Michelle started at Moorabbin Veterinary Hospital in 2001. From a very early age Michelle knew that she wanted a career with animals, growing up with dogs, cats, birds and horses!

Michelle enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing, especially surgical nursing and anaesthesia. Along with her role as the nursing team leader, she manages the day to day running of the hospital, and also administration.

Michelle has two adorable Boston Terriers, Pingu and Peanut who she loves playing with! Michelle also enjoys reading, baking, playing netball and spending time with her family.

  • Diploma Applied Science: Animal Technology
  • Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing

 

Hayley Young

Veterinary Nurse

Hayley first joined the nursing team at Moorabbin Veterinary Hospital in 2005, after a number of years as a dental nurse. Hayley loves all aspects of the profession including surgical and medical nursing, pharmacology and of course cuddling all of the animals!

Hayley spends her time outside of work looking after her two young boys, and also assisting with their school’s PTF committee. She also enjoys walking her two Finnish Lapphunds Spirit and Pennja, playing with her cats Merlot (a Somali) and Franny, and taking her Nissan Cube to car events.

Georgina Earl

Veterinary Nurse

Georgina joined the Moorabbin Veterinary Nursing team in 2014. She began her career in 1999 at the RSPCA (NSW), after working as an Animal Technician in Canberra. Georgina continues to enjoy all aspects of veterinary nursing!

Georgina has two pets at home, Bandit a White Swiss Shepherd, and Elroy a spunky black cat! Georgina also loves to spend time reading, gardening, camping and 4WDing with her family.

  • Advanced Diploma Animal Technology
  • Advanced Certificate Veterinary Nursing

 

Kate Hodgkinson

Veterinary Nurse

Kate joined the Moorabbin Veterinary Hospital nursing team in 2015. She has always had a passion for animals, and volunteered her time at the RSPCA (Qld) before beginning a career in veterinary nursing in 2014. Kate especially loves the surgical and anaesthesia components of her veterinary nursing course.

Kate grew up with a number of animals, also spending a lot of her childhood on her families cattle and sheep stations in outback Queensland. In her spare time she loves reading, traveling, baking and cooking, and petting everyones pets!

Qualifications

  • Certificate II in Animal Studies
  • Currently undertaking Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing

 

Marissa Rickard

Veterinary Nurse

Marissa joined the Moorabbin Veterinary Hospital nursing team in 2015. Beginning her career in 2010, she has a particular interest in emergency and has completed additional studies in this area.

Marissa also loves taking care of any wildlife that is brought into the hospital!

Marissa has two dogs, Ziva and Lily who she loves spending time with. She also loves keeping fit and healthy, and spending time with friends and family.

Samantha Anderson

Veterinary Nurse

Samantha joined the Moorabbin Veterinary Hospital nursing team in 2016. She began her nursing career at the RSPCA (Qld) in 2009 and particularly enjoys the surgical nursing aspect of her role. Samantha also has an interest in educating new puppy owners, running our puppy school classes at MVH.

Samantha is kept busy with her animals, including four horses, two dogs and two cats! When she has any spare time, she also loves to spend time outdoors camping and 4WDing.

  • Currently undertaking Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing

 

Georgia Karidis

Animal Attendant

Georgia joined the nursing team as a nursing assistant in 2016, after completing her work experience at MVH. She also assists with our puppy school classes, which means she gets to cuddle puppies every week! Georgia is currently undertaking her secondary school studies locally, after which she plans to study Veterinary Science.
